ISE HIKARI is considered divine rice discovered in the rice fields owned by the Grand Shrine of ISE, which enshrines the solar goddess Amaterasu, Japan's highest deity.
When typhoons hit twice in 1989, all the rice in the fields was wiped out except for only two rice plants; furthermore, the seeds were carefully preserved at the shrine.
In 1996, this Rice was named "ISE HIKARI"(=The light of ISE) and has been dedicated as "Rice for Gods" at the Grand Shrine of ISE.
Our farm carefully grows this miraculously surviving rice in a paddy field surrounded by flowing fresh and natural water in Tatsuno, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, without using pesticides, chemical fertilizers, or herbicides.
Moreover, we purify the soil before cultivation using COOHNAC, created by the latest science technology, and sprinkle this COOHNAC during seedling and cultivation.
This step enables us to remove all pesticide residues, make the soil pristine, increase the mitochondria of rice, and create the rice that makes you healthier by eating it.
Please enjoy the entire brown rice of ISE HIKARI, with plenty of nutrition inherited from ancient Japanese culture. The more you chew, the more gently flavorful the rice becomes.
